Birding and Wine… A Great Pairing

About this event

Enjoy a unique experience of birding in the morning followed by lunch and wine at the Fruitland Valley Vineyard & Winery!

When: Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Where: Fruitland Valley Vineyard and Winery

What’s Going to Happen: Join local birding guide, Dave Kreft, on a tour of the greater Fruitland Valley and neighboring sites to see, identify,  and appreciate our local wild birds during the height of their color and activity. Along the way we will also see local wildflowers, critters, and peaceful landscapes. This will be an auto tour for approximately 2 ½ to 3 hours with frequent stops to view birds in various habitats, identifying them, learning their songs, and understanding their behaviors. At the end of the tour you will enjoy a sumptuous lunch and opportunity for wine tasting back at the Fruitland Valley Winery venue.

What You  Need to Know:

-            This event is limited to 16 people and we hope to carpool the trip to keep the group together. Get your ticket early.

-            Bring a pair of binoculars, camera, sunscreen, bug spray, hat, light jacket, and drinks/snacks

-            We'll do our best to arrange at least one bathroom break; otherwise, nature will take its course as trees and brush allow

Your  guide will be Dave Kreft of Kettle Falls, WA. Dave is a retired natural resource professional and accomplished birder in Northeast Washington as well as a past president of the Washington Ornithological Society.
